Patients across Africa

Wherever you live in Africa, we support you remotely in French or English: send your reports on WhatsApp or by email and we organise everything from Douala with the hospital in India. The process is the same: free review, written opinion and estimate, then visa and travel guidance.

Estimates can be explained in your local currency.

Visa

The India e-Medical visa

India offers an electronic visa for medical treatment (e-Medical visa) for patients, and an e-Medical Attendant visa for family members travelling with them (generally up to two). Eligibility, fees, validity and processing times are set by the Government of India and can change, so always check the official website.

Official site: indianvisaonline.gov.in

Apply only on the official Government of India website. Unofficial sites may look similar and charge extra fees.

  1. 1

Once you decide to go ahead, the hospital issues a visa invitation letter for the patient and attendants.

  2. 2

Check that each passport is valid for at least six months and has blank pages.

  3. 3

Prepare a recent passport-style photo and a scan of the passport page for each traveller.

  4. 4

Apply online on indianvisaonline.gov.in, upload the documents and pay the official fee.

  5. 5

Print the electronic travel authorisation and carry it with the hospital letter when you fly.

  6. 6

The visa decision is made by the Indian authorities. We check your documents with you before you submit.

For the family member who travels

What to bring: the checklist

Most patients travel with a son, daughter, husband or wife. Tick the list as you go; it is saved on your phone.

Money & payments

Treatment is paid directly to the hospital, usually by bank transfer or card, against official receipts. Ask your bank in advance about international transfers and card limits, and carry some cash for daily needs. Follow the currency rules of your country when travelling.

Language support

Interpreting in French is arranged for consultations, and you can write or send voice notes to our team in French or English at any time.

Flights & life near the hospital

There are usually no direct flights from Central or West Africa to India, so most routes connect through a hub in Africa or the Middle East. We help you compare options and find accommodation, food and places of worship near the hospital.
