Treatment

Urology

Urology covers the kidneys, bladder, prostate and urinary tract, as well as male reproductive health. Urology teams in India review your reports and scans and give a written opinion on the diagnosis and the treatment options, which we explain to you in French or English before you decide.

Conditions we can help with

  • Kidney and urinary stones
  • Enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia, BPH)
  • Kidney failure, including assessment for a kidney transplant
  • Prostate and kidney cancers (see cancer treatment)
  • Urethral stricture (narrowing of the urethra)
  • Erectile dysfunction that has not responded to other treatment

Treatments and procedures

  • Stone treatment, including keyhole and endoscopic procedures
  • Treatment for an enlarged prostate, with medicines or surgery
  • Kidney transplant, with full evaluation of patient and donor
  • Robotic prostate surgery
  • Robotic kidney cancer surgery
  • Urethroplasty (reconstruction of the urethra)
  • Penile implant surgery

Availability of a technique depends on the hospital and on your case.

Your journey

How it usually goes

  1. 1

Send your reports: ultrasound or CT scan, urine and blood tests (including creatinine and PSA if done).

  2. 2

The urology team gives a written opinion, a proposed plan and an estimate.

  3. 3

You decide with your family, then we help with the visa and travel.

  4. 4

In India: consultation, any further tests, then treatment.

  5. 5

A check-up before the flight home, with a discharge summary and follow-up plan.

How long you may stay in India

It depends on the treatment. For many stone and prostate procedures, patients often stay in India for about one to two weeks. Reconstructive or robotic surgery may need longer, and a kidney transplant needs several weeks. The hospital gives you a time estimate with its opinion.

General guidance only. Every case is different, and the hospital gives its own estimate for you.

What to send for a free review

  • Ultrasound, CT or MRI reports (and images if you have them)
  • Urine tests and blood tests, including creatinine
  • PSA result, if tested
  • Previous surgery or biopsy reports and current medicines

Clear phone photos are fine to start with. Please don’t post medical details on public social media.

Good to know

Tell us about blood in the urine, severe pain, fever or being unable to pass urine: these need prompt medical attention locally while your case is reviewed.

Questions about intimate health are handled discreetly and shared only with the doctors reviewing your case.

A word of honesty: no one can promise a cure. The treating doctors decide the treatment, and results differ from patient to patient. What we promise is clear information, respect and support at every step.
